Galations 6:2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Loving one another isn’t a choice, it is the law of the Bible and of our savior Jesus Christ. Jesus calls us to help others, whether we don’t like the person or even if it’s a total stranger, we are called to love. Love is Blind.
I’ve been sick of all the negative stuff I see online now & days. Scrolling through Facebook it seems like (for the most part) all there is, is negativity and violence in the world.
Several months back I had the idea to find someone on the streets and spend an hour or so talking with and helping them in any way I can. I started a blog about my encounters to not only spread something positive but also share God’s message of kindness.
Today I ran into Kevin, I have already met Him about a month back on another one of my “Selflessselfie” missions, but today was Hot! Kevin looked like he needed something cold to drink. He saw me walking up from a distance with a big ice water and yelled my way “Hey Dillon, how’s it goin” with a huge smile on his face.
Kevin is a great guy but has been homeless for many, many years. He doesn’t have a drug issue, but he admits he lacks the drive to do what it takes to find a paying Job. I gave Kevin some cash to get a motel room tonight and out of this heat and he was extremely grateful like always.
While sitting there catching up with Kevin and enjoying some shade on the side of the road, something happened. Right next to us a woman’s car rolled to a halt on the side of the road. Her car had broken down and she was all alone. Kevin and I jumped up and helped this woman named Audrey, push her car down the street into a parking lot and out of the road.
God presents us with opportunities every day to step up and not only show others Him through our own actions, but just plain out, to do the right thing. It may be as small as holding the door open for someone, or smiling at a stranger. Little actions, can have HUGE results.
“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” -Mother Teresa
Our ultimate goal is to be like Christ, bring others to him and show EVERYONE his love. Still water’s are boring. Go out and create many ripples!
